Cancord was contacted by a company who was using galvanized aircraft cable in a pulley system. The galvanized cable was fatiguing too quickly causing aggravation and excessive down time.

The Criteria

Able to withstand a 400lb load
UV resistant
Must not flatten under load
Maximum allowable diameter 1/8″
Low Elongation
Must withstand 1 million cycles back and forth over a 1.5″ pulley
Must have swaged loops in both ends

The Solution

Cancord used a combination of high strength fibers to engineer a cord that exceeded the customer’s requirements and expectations. The customer benefitted from smoother running operations with minimal aggravation and down time.
